About Us

Green Wood Kindergarten was created in 2013 by a Doctor in Education, PhD from the U.S.A., and his spouse - highly experienced in teaching French, English (B.S. from the USA) and certified from France as a horse riding instructor.

The facility is located in “Benayat”, 5 minutes from Petra University, on a 5500 square meters land surrounded by beautiful trees and 10 minutes from Dir Aghbar, Abdoun and Swefiyeh.

In a safe, professional and clean environment, children can play in a large playground with sand, a large trampoline  and a football pitch (25x45 meters).

There is a stable with a pony to introduce equestrian activities to children so that they can develop their balance, agility, self confidence and respect toward an animal.

The whole area is equipped with cameras.

There is  a computer corner, a library corner, a drama corner with a theater, bright classroomss with a large interactive white board, a projector, a kitchen, a spacious eating area, an activity room with many educative toys and games.

GWKG focus on Academics and Exercises. “A sound mind in a sound body.”

We offer education from preschool to KG2.

Aside from academics, GWKG also has an athletic program, extracurricular activities, holidays and summer programs.

What is learned in the first years sets the base for later learning in any other formal education system.

“We cannot know the consequences of suppressing a child's spontaneity when he is just beginning to be active. We may even suffocate life itself. That humanity which is revealed in all its intellectual splendour during the sweet and tender age of childhood should be respected with a kind of religious veneration. It is like the sun which appears at dawn or a flower just beginning to bloom. Education cannot be effective unless it helps a child to open up himself to life.”
